Learn Chinese

Welcome to ‘Can Do Chinese’. This program specifically addresses the development of real-world communications skills and measures them against a curated selection of Can Do statements.

As part of this course, you will hone your conversational language skills based on carefully crafted scenarios and dialogue. You will learn both to ask questions and give responses. This course primarily targets the development of speaking and listening skills, but you will also learn grammatical structures related to each lesson’s focus.

‘Can Do Chinese’ is intended to guide you in your Chinese language learning in a fun and engaging way. By the end of each unit, you will have gained measurable language skills, improved fluency, and expanded awareness of cultural norms — all through the study of meaningful conversations.

“Can Do” Learning Pathways

Can Do lessons are collected into Learning Pathways. What’s a learning pathway? It’s simply a collection of audio and video lessons and tests for you to complete…from lesson 1, to 2, to 3 until the end.

Pathways are based around a common topic or a learning goal. So, once you finish the pathway, you’ve completed that learning goal.

Your ‘Can Do’ Learning Pathways

You will also learn cultural norms when introducing yourself by name in Chinese.

In this lesson, you’ll learn how to tell someone where you’re from in Chinese.

You will also learn how to ask and respond to questions about your occupation.
