Michael: In this lesson, you’ll learn how to follow instructions. The conversation takes place at an office. |

Michael: But it is still polite. What is the basic pattern? |
Dehua: 请 (Qǐng) followed by a verb phrase. |
Michael: Sometimes, you might need something additional in the middle, such as a pronoun. Let’s hear some examples. |
Dehua: 请坐这里。(Qǐng zuò zhèlǐ.) |
Michael: “Please sit here.” |
Dehua: 请关门。(Qǐng guānmén.) |
Michael: “Please close the door.” |
