咸(xián) means too much salt, "salty" |
这个菜太咸了.(zhège cài tài xián le.)"This dish is too salty." |
甜(tián) |
甜(tián) is ”sweet" |
我喜欢吃西瓜,因为西瓜很甜.(wǒ xǐhuān chī xīguā , yīnwèi xīguā hěn tián.)"I like watermelons because watermelons are sweet." |
苦(kǔ) |
苦(kǔ) is ”bitter" |
什么很苦呢?(Shénme hěn kǔ ne?) What is bitter? |
中药很苦.(zhōngyào hěn kǔ.)"Chinese medicine, the herbal medicine is truly bitter.” |

辣(là) is ”spicy" |
川菜很辣.(chuāncài hěn là.)"Sichuan food is usually very spicy." |
Next one is 酸(suān) |
酸(suān) is ”sour" |
我不喜欢吃酸的.(wǒ bù xǐhuān chī suān de.)"I don't like sour" or "I don't like sour food." Anything sour, I really don’t like it. |
