| Today, I will take you guys to a very special place, an ancient Chinese town, 磁器口 (cí qì kǒu). |
| 磁器口 (cí qì kǒu) situated on the bank of Jialin River covering an area of 1.2 square kilometers. The history of 磁器口 (cí qì kǒu) can be traced back for more than 1700 years. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was famous for its production of porcelain. |
| However, the village was also an important supply post for shipping on the river, that is the reason why there are so many shops here. |

| 明清时，磁器口镇街面大，多板青石路面。 |
| (míng qīngshí, cíqì kǒu zhèn jiē miàn dà, duō bǎn qīng shí lùmiàn.) |
| All streets at Ciqikou during the Ming and Qing dynasties were large and paved with green flagstones. |
| 路面约有二点五公里长。 |

| The main street ran about 2.5 km in length. |
| 石板路与房屋高度之比大体为一比一点五。 |

| The ratio between the width of these streets and the height of building along the streets was 1 to 1.5. |
| 虽经人們千年踩磨，至今仍保持完好。 |

| These flagstone streets stand the test of time and remain well preserved as of today. |

| 磁器口过去是重庆重要的水码头，曾与朝天门齐名。 |

| Ciqikou used to be one of the most important wharfs in Chongqing as the Chao Tian Men wharf close to the downtown. |
| 原有上河街，下河街，商贸极其繁华，往来船只众多。 |
| (yuán yǒu shànghé jiē, xià hé jiē, shāngmào jíqí fánhuá, wǎnglái chuánzhī zhòngduō.) |
| Historically, it was made of an upper river street and lower river street. Ciqikou was once full of boats coming back and forth to transport goods, merchants, and traders doing business at this old town. |
| 有「白日里千人拱手，入夜来万盞明灯」之美譽。 |
| (yǒu "bái rì lǐ qiān rén gǒngshǒu, rùyè lái wàn zhǎn míngdēng" zhī měiyù.) |
| All streets in the Ciqikou neighborhood were packed like sardines at that time due to the many business activities and the presence of many businessmen. |
| 古镇一带曾产瓷器，依靠码头运往各处，「瓷器口」因而得名。 |
| (gǔzhèn yīdài céng chǎn cíqì, yīkào mǎtóu yùnwǎng gè chù,`cíqì kǒu'yīn'ér dé míng.) |
| This ancient town was once the home to a number of porcelain. And people shipped these porcelain to many different places. That's the reason why we call this town Ciqikou (it means "porcelain village"). |
| 这个叫做「酸辣粉」，是由红薯粉做成。 |
| (zhège jiàozuò `suān là fěn', shì yóu hóngshǔ fěn zuò chéng.) |
| This is Hot and Sour Rice Noodles. It is made of red sweet potato powder. |

| Hot and Sour Rice Noodles is a very popular Chongqing street food. |
