Thank you for your comment. No, 了 is not needed in this sentence for past tense. Although we often use 了 when we talk about past events, it's not always the case. Also, adding 了 doesn't equal to past tense, it has many usages.

In the video, the photograph of the 鸭妈妈 is actually a 鸭爸爸！:smile:
However, the video of the 鸭妈妈 swimming with the 小鸭 is correct.
